Metal sheds constitute a great option if your desire is to convert your shed into a workshop or merely use it for garden storage. There are a number of advantages which can be solely attributed to metal sheds:

• They provide superb security - Metal sheds can provide extra protection against thieves, due to featuring reinforced hinges which assist in preventing forced entry. Similarly, the doors and walls offer thick, steel panels which cannot be easily broken into.

• Maintenance free - The amount of time spent on maintaining a metal shed is almost non-existent. Courtesy of galvanised steel, the metal is protected from the elements, preventing the formation of rust.

• Very affordable - Metal sheds represent a cheaper option than the wooden alternative. So, if space is most important to you, then a metal shed portrays a sizable garden storage option which won’t break the bank.

Though a base isn’t essential, we would always recommend getting a substantial base to go along with any garden shed purchase. For a metal shed, a solid concrete base represents the best option, as a hard-wearing base designed to support a great deal of weight.

Though, it is worth noting that one of the biggest advantages of metal sheds is that compared to wooden and plastic sheds, a foundation isn’t as important, due to the heavy-duty nature of their construction. Essentially, the larger a metal shed, the more likely it is to require a foundation, due to needing a strong base to provide support.

If the building is shorter than 2.5m tall you should not require planning permission, (unless it’s more than 50% of your garden or to be put in your front garden). Planning permission rules can vary by area so we would strongly recommend checking your local council rules before ordering from us.

We do not offer an installation service on any of our buildings, our buildings are designed & manufactured to be easy and simple to assemble. Using the assembly instruction included and with a team of just 2 people and a bit of DIY knowledge you can expect to have your BillyOh building up within a day, or as little as 3-4 hours with some of our smaller buildings.

Reduced weight per package helps to ensure that metal sheds are some of the easiest to construct. This certainly isn’t an assembly project which requires you to be an experienced builder in order to put everything together.

Simply follow the instructional leaflet provided with your metal shed. As a general rule, the only equipment required will come within the package, so no prep work is needed and no additional costs are incurred.
